Dear John - Movie Review

I had no idea what this movie was about until I actually saw it and my sisters gave me a qiuck plot run down before entering the theatre.

The movie was very sad, but it seemed to drag on for a while. But an epic sadness as a guy in the army falls in love with a girl named Savannah, after he is shot and is put on leave for a couple of weeks. In those couple of weeks they seem to bond a lot  I guess, because they fall in love [duh]. So he goes back and then, September 11th. He realizes it's his duty to fight for his country, but he dearly loves Savannah. He's caught between two things and doesn't know which to choose.

That was a very strong element, choices. It was a bit like "Seize the Day" by Avenged Sevenfold. Not the video, but the whole story. It was a big impact on one, as we all make choices in life that have a chain reaction.
The movie, although focused on the romance between the young couple, is sad for something along some other lines. [I am NOT giving up that detail.] So much misunderstanding ensues and people are miserable. I know this review isn't helping, but this gave me mixed feelings. I hated Savannah's character towards the end. But hey, that's my opinion. It was a nice movie but too teary-eyed-ness and the plot wasn't so great. It was as if someone wrote it, but decided to just change it completely. I haven't read the book or anything, but that's just what I really didn't get from the MOVIE. :P Ha.
Nice movie, but too long for the plot itself. It feels like one of those things that kinda leaves you like, "Whaaaa?" But is not totally unenjoyable. I dunno I had some mixed feelings, but I'd watch it again.
